Absolute proper motions of open clusters. I. Observational data
Mean proper motions and parallaxes of 205 open clusters were determinedfrom their member stars found in the Hipparcos Catalogue. 360 clusterswere searched for possible members, excluding nearby clusters withdistances D < 200 pc. Members were selected using ground basedinformation (photometry, radial velocity, proper motion, distance fromthe cluster centre) and information provided by Hipparcos (propermotion, parallax). Altogether 630 certain and 100 possible members werefound. A comparison of the Hipparcos parallaxes with photometricdistances of open clusters shows good agreement. The Hipparcos dataconfirm or reject the membership of several Cepheids in the studiedclusters. Tables 1 and 2 are only available in electronic form at theCDS via anonymous ftp to cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5) or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.html

UBV beta Database for Case-Hamburg Northern and Southern Luminous Stars
A database of photoelectric UBV beta photometry for stars listed in theCase-Hamburg northern and southern Milky Way luminous stars surveys hasbeen compiled from the original research literature. Consisting of over16,000 observations of some 7300 stars from over 500 sources, thisdatabase constitutes the most complete compilation of such photometryavailable for intrinsically luminous stars around the Galactic plane.Over 5000 stars listed in the Case-Hamburg surveys still lackfundamental photometric data.

A catalogue of [Fe/H] determinations: 1996 edition
A fifth Edition of the Catalogue of [Fe/H] determinations is presentedherewith. It contains 5946 determinations for 3247 stars, including 751stars in 84 associations, clusters or galaxies. The literature iscomplete up to December 1995. The 700 bibliographical referencescorrespond to [Fe/H] determinations obtained from high resolutionspectroscopic observations and detailed analyses, most of them carriedout with the help of model-atmospheres. The Catalogue is made up ofthree formatted files: File 1: field stars, File 2: stars in galacticassociations and clusters, and stars in SMC, LMC, M33, File 3: numberedlist of bibliographical references The three files are only available inelectronic form at the Centre de Donnees Stellaires in Strasbourg, viaanonymous ftp to cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5), or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.html

Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue.
We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

The galactic abundance gradients traced by B-type stars
We obtained high S/N, high resolution spectra of 16 B-type main sequencestars in young open clusters and in H II regions with galactocentricdistances between 7 and 16 kpc. Chemical abundances for this sample werederived using line-blanketed Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (LTE) modelatmospheres and line formation in LTE. Our analyses together withpublished data from similar analyses of B-type stars result in flatgradients or even no gradients at all for oxygen and nitrogen in theouter part of the galactic disk. It is conjectured that the largermetallicity gradients cited for H II regions are essentially due to asteepening within the inner 6 kpc towards the galactic center.

Interstellar extinction in the vicinity of the North America and Pelican Nebulae. II
The results of photoelectric photometry of 564 stars in the Vilniusseven-color system in three areas near the North America and PelicanNebulae are given. Photometric spectral types, absolute magnitudes, color excesses, interstellar extinction,s and distances to the stars aredetermined. We find that the dark cloud separating both nebulae is at580 pc distance. A number of stars immersed in the dark cloud have beenfound. It seems that the dark cloud extends south down to 40 degdeclination. The area southwest of alpha Cygni in the declination zones42 deg and 43 deg is comparatively transparent at least up to 1 kpc.

Photoelectric Vilnius photometry in the direction of the open cluster NGC 6910
Photoelectric Vilnius photomerry of 17 stars in the direction of thenucleus of the open cluster NGC 6910 is presented. Spectral types, absolute magnitudes, interstellar extinctions, and distances of thestars are determined. The distance of the cluster based on ten O and Bstars from the list is evaluated to be 1530 pc, its mean extinction isAV = 3.65 mag, and the age is less than 7 x 10 exp 6 years.

RSF 2 CYG - A star-forming region associated with the extremely young cluster NGC 6910 and the Ae/Be Herbig stars BD + 40 deg 4124 and BD + 41 deg 3731
Results are presented of photoelectric UBVR photometry for 132 starsassociated with NGC 6910 and the Be Herbig stars BD + 0 deg 4124 and BD+ 41 deg 3731. Information about H-alpha emission stars in the regionRSF 2 Cyg, scanner spectrophotometry, variability, and polarimetry ofthe BD + 40 deg 4124 and BD + 41 deg 3731 group is given. Sixty-oneearly-spectral-type stars are selected as members of the star-formingregion on the basis of two-color diagrams, an H-R diagram, and aninterstellar extinction map. The distance to the region is 980 pc, theextension is more than 50 pc, the total mass is 500,000 solar masses, and the mass of the stars is 10,000 solar masses. The star formationefficiency is 5 percent.

HDE 229189 - A variable AE star in the field of NGC 6910
The star HDE 229189 (BD + 40 4145; in the field, though probably not amember, of the open cluster NGC 6910) has been found to exhibit largephotometric changes in V magnitude over relatively short time scales. The total observed range was 0.416 V magnitude. An outburst in 1982showed an even greater V range (Delta V = 1.66) and concomitant colorchanges. A coude spectrum of the star taken a week before a minoroutburst showed emission at H-alpha but no other unusual lines. The staris likely an A3 (V)e star, an unusual object in itself (since stars aslate as A3 seldom show emission at H-alpha), or else possibly a memberof a binary system undergoing mass transfer between the members.

Distribution of OB stars and absorbing matter in the region around P CYG
The results of spectrophotometric observations of 277 OB stars in a 7 x7-deg region around P Cyg, obtained in 8-sec, 45-sec, and 8-minexposures on ORWO ZU-21 plates with a 4-deg 272-A/mm-dispersionobjective prism on the 40-in. Schmidt telescope at BiurakanAstrophysical Observatory on October 14-19, 1979, are presented intables and graphs and characterized. Data reported include 400-480-nmabsolute spectrophotometric gradients, color excesses, and distances. Itis found that concentrations of OB stars with associated absorbingmatter exist toward the associations Cyg OB9 (two concentrations at 800and 1800 pc), Cyg OB3 (three concentrations at 1.4, 2.5, and 3.7 kpc),OB1 (at 1.6 kpc), Cyg OB8 (at 1.5 kpc), and over the entire observedregion at a distance of about 500 pc.
